My ServiceNow Story: Josh Brostoff, Sr. ServiceNow Architect

This ServiceNow Story features Josh Brostoff, a Senior ServiceNow Architect based out of Boston, Massachusetts.


How were you first introduced to ServiceNow? What was your first job using the platform?

I was first introduced to ServiceNow when I was working at athenahealth, providing production support for various enterprise business applications, one of which was ServiceNow. As the ServiceNow team was growing, I was presented with the opportunity to join the team as a Developer. I instantly fell in love with the platform after getting exposure to ITSM, CMDB, integrations, and creating several scoped applications.


What other jobs have you had working with ServiceNow?


After athenahealth, I moved into a ServiceNow Developer role at Tufts Health Plan, a health insurance agency that had recently implemented the platform. It was at Tufts that I gained experience in new parts of the platform, including Discovery, Procurement, and Asset Management. I also had the opportunity to build three scoped applications and architect/develop an employee on-boarding process involving six integrations.


In 2018, I published an app to the ServiceNow Store, PhishBait, which simulates phishing emails and provides reporting to management regarding which employees are at risk. The application also provides training to employees on how to spot and avoid phishing emails.

What are your plans for the future in your career and in the ServiceNow industry?


I would love to learn more about the emerging ServiceNow product lines, such as HR, SecOps and CSM.


In the future, I hope to someday start a cloud computing company.
