My ServiceNow Story: David Arbour, Service Delivery Manager

This ServiceNow Story features David Arbour, a Service Delivery Manager based out of Madisonville, LA.

 

How were you first introduced to ServiceNow? What was your first job using the platform?


I was introduced to ServiceNow completely by chance. Back in 2015, a former colleague of mine reached out to tell me he was working with a new platform named ServiceNow, and he wondered if I would be interested in joining his team as a developer. At the time, I knew nothing about ServiceNow, but I ultimately decided to take a chance and accept the offer. In hindsight, deciding to develop in ServiceNow was the most important professional decision I ever made. I quickly fell in love with the platform and the rest is history.


What other jobs have you had working with ServiceNow?


I've worked with ServiceNow both as a customer and as a consultant in the following roles:

  • ServiceNow Developer at a large health insurance company

  • ServiceNow Developer at a large Federal IT consulting company

  • ServiceNow Senior Developer at a small ServiceNow consulting company

  • ServiceNow Senior Architect and Service Delivery Manager at GlideFast Consulting


What are your primary ServiceNow skills?


I'm sort of a jack of all trades when it comes to ServiceNow in that my skills are not limited to just a few areas of the platform. Listing actual skills and experience here would take a while, but I do have quite a few certifications and accreditations to mention:

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Discovery

What are your plans for the future in your career and in the ServiceNow industry?


I absolutely love working with the team at GlideFast Consulting, so I'll likely stay where I'm at for quite some time. That being the case, I would like to continue growing as a mentor and leader at GlideFast. I really enjoy being able to pass down my knowledge and experience to a larger team of developers and architects.
